IBSE operates special trains over freight-only and other interesting routes in Germany. On IBSE railtours and trips the "Allgemeinen Vertragsbedingungen für Sonderfahrten" (common terms of contract) apply.
In 2009 IBSE operated the following trips:
- 13 December 2009: Special Trip on the Brohltal Eisenbahn
- 23 - 25 October 2009: Special Trips in the Hildesheim, Braunschweig and Haldensleben areas.
- 26 June 2009: railbus to Töpchin (Schienenbus nach Töpchin)
In 2008 IBSE operated the following trips:
- 18 - 19 October 2008: "Sonderfahrten auf Güterzugstrecken und Industriegleisen rund um Zwickau, Freiberg und Görlitz" ("Special Trips on Goods Lines and Industrial Tracks around Zwickau, Freiberg and Görlitz").
- 12 October 2008: "Straßenbahnsonderfahrt in Braunschweig" ("Special Tram Trip in Braunschweig").
- 20 - 22 June 2008: "Straßenbahnsonderfahrten in Leipzig" ("Special Tram Trips in Leipzig").
- 11 - 12 April 2008: "Sonderfahrten im Raum Braunschweig/Salzgitter" ("Special Trips around Braunschweig/Salzgitter").
In 2007 IBSE operated the following trips:
- 22 - 24 September 2007: "Sonderfahrten im Harz" ("Special Trips in the Harz")
- 8 - 9 September 2007: "Straßenbahnsonderfahrten in Cottbus und Frankfurt (Oder)" ("Special Tram Trips in Cottbus and Frankfurt (Oder)")
- 14 April 2007: Visit to the Tramway network of Halle an der Saale. The program contains all non-passenger curves, turning loops, workshops, triangles and service tracks, and also the long distance route to Bad Dürrenberg.
- 31 March - 1 April 2007: Round trip into and around Berlin.
In 2006 IBSE operated the following trips:
- 14 - 15 October 2006: "Abgelegene Bahnen in Thüringen" ("Remote Railways in Thuringia").
- 19 - 20 August 2006: "Prag - Rundfahrt":

In 2005 IBSE operated the following trips:
- Friday 25 November 2005: "Sonderfahrt mit Schienenbus der Oberhessischen Eisenbahnfreunde ( OEF ) rund um den Frankfurter Hauptgüterbahnhof".
- Saturday 3 September 2005: "Sonderfahrt zu Güterzugstrecken zwischen Brandenburg (Havel) und Magdeburg".
- from Friday 10 June 2005 to Sunday 12 June 2005: "Sonderfahrt mit Bus und Zug zu isoliert gelegenen Bahnen in Berlin, Brandenburg und Mecklenburg-Vorpommern" (Special Trip by bus and train to isolated railways in Berlin, Brandenburg und Mecklenburg-Vorpommern).
In 2004 IBSE operated the following trips:
- 22 - 25 October 2004: "Bayern Rundfahrt":

- 27 & 28 September 2003: "Strategische – und Industriegleise zwischen Schwarzer Elster und Börde" (photos).

- 7 June 2003: special trip on Frankfurt am Main tramway - details.
- 23 March 2003: special trip on Erfurt tramway - details.
- 22 March 2003: special trip on Thüringerwaldbahn and Gotha tramway - details.

In 2002 IBSE operated the following trips:
- 2 - 3 November 2002: by VT98 railcars from Gladbeck via various goods lines to Minden, then travelling over the whole of the Mindener Kreisbahn.
- 28 September 2002: special train on routes of the Kahlgrundbahn at Aschaffenburg.
- 16 June 2002: special trip with historic class 172 railcars around Neustrelitz.
- 15 June 2002: to interesting routes in and around Berlin, with Prignitzer Eisenbahn railcars (photos).
- 14 June 2002: complete coverage of the Waldeisenbahn at Muskau (photos).
- 14 April 2002: special tram tour around Frankfurt am Main.
